In 2016 The Netherlands will be President of the Council of Ministers of the European Union (EU). The museum will form the main setting for these meetings, eg from May 29th up to June 3rd 2016.
The Netherlands was the first Western country to develop pleasure boating on a large scale; the first yachts were built as early as 1600, and Amsterdam’s first yacht harbour opened in 1622.
